21st Century Cures Act

The selected regulation is 21^st Century Cures Act. Enacted in 2016, this regulation has implications for health/nursing informatics as it streamlines approvals for medical technologies, advances implementation of telehealth services, eliminates bureaucratic red tape, and promotes use of electronic health records. Cures Act has a significant effect on system implementation, particularly through the Trusted Exchange Network. First, it provides greater access to medical records for research purposes.
